In 2023, RESO is proud to have launched the East by Northwest (EXNW) global summit in Vancouver, BC to highlight, elevate, and empower racialized creatives in and across film, tv, streaming, gaming, and animation.  EXNW is where the creative world comes together to catalyze the development of creative content and storytelling by racialized creators, and create a more inclusive and equitable future.

RESO was thrilled to partner with Gold House, the leading Asian Pacific cultural ecosystem that unites, invests in, and champions Asian Pacific and other marginalized content creators and companies.

With 2023 marking the 50th anniversary of Bruce Lee’s passing, we reflected on the impact his legacy has made in film and storytelling.  His daughter Shannon Lee was gracious enough to be our Summit Keynote to discuss how the diverse narratives in Hollywood have grown since her father’s heyday, and the systematic challenges that still face racialized creators and members of the entertainment industry.

The EXNW Ball brought together luminaries from film, TV, gaming, animation, and storytelling to celebrate the launch of Canada’s new summit for racialized creators.  The event featured the prestigious EXNW Global Connector Awards, recognizing outstanding contributions to global entertainment.  Established to highlight sustained leadership and innovation, the award aims to inspire equity and representation for creatives from indigenous, Black, and racialized communities worldwide.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this inaugural global summit.  As we bid farewell to 2023, let's carry the spirit of inclusion into the new year, ensuring that every story is not just told but celebrated.  Here's to more collaborations, more voices, and more progress in 2024!
